Intergroup (IG)
We are the Big Country Intergroup (BCI) #09378 which consists of the communities of Abilene, Lubbock, Midland, San Angelo and the surrounding areas of West Texas. We are part of Region 3 of Overeaters Anonymous, which is comprised of meetings in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Utah.

What is Intergroup?
When several meetings form in an area, they soon realize that they can perform certain functions better together rather than separately. Meetings may form an Intergroup that is directly responsible to the groups it serves.
Intergroups spring from a need to provide service for a number of local meetings and help distribute information about OA in a community. The Intergroup elects annual Board Positions and Committee Chairpersons to distribute Intergroup responsibilities.
Group Representatives are elected by each meeting to attend and participate in the Intergroup meetings and responsibilities.
